Dr. Rachid Ryan Macwar is a highly skilled interventional cardiologist with
extensive training and experience in advanced cardiac imaging and
intervention. He served as the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Director
at Upson Regional Hospital in Thomaston, GA, where he is dedicated to
providing cutting-edge care to his patients.
Dr. Macwar completed his
Doctor of Medicine at the University Mohammed V School of Medicine in Rabat,
Morocco, graduating with "magna cum laude" distinction. He pursued his
residency in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI,
followed by multiple fellowships, including Interventional Cardiology at
Henry Ford Hospital, Advanced Imaging in Cardiac MRI at Duke University, and
Nuclear Cardiology at Yale University.
His clinical expertise
encompasses a wide range of interventional techniques, including complex
PCI, aortic balloon valvuloplasty, and treatment of pulmonary embolism and
DVT. He is also proficient in advanced imaging modalities such as cardiac CT
angiography, cardiac MRI, and nuclear cardiology, holding multiple board
certifications in these specialties.
Dr. Macwar has contributed to
the field through numerous publications and presentations at prestigious
medical conferences. He has been recognized for his leadership, serving as
the Director of the Echocardiography Lab and Co-Director of the Cardiac CT
and MRI Program at the University of Illinois College of
Medicine.
Fluent in Arabic, French, and Spanish, Dr. Macwar is
committed to addressing the needs of diverse patient populations. He is an
active member of several professional organizations, including the American
College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and
Interventions.
